Scottsdale will add a red brick extension to its telephone building to handle rapid growth. The overhaul, estimated at 100000 with equipment, will involve bids from multiple construction firms and post mid summer completion. Western Electric equipment orders are placed to start installation after the build. The Scottsdale exchange has grown from 2400 to over 3800 phones since 1953.
