A Superior Court judge ruled Stanford Medical Center acted within its rights to bar a physician from using Laetrile on a hospitalized patient. Judge John S. McInerny denied Mrs. Josephine Berigman the suit and noted it would be unwise to challenge the university hospital's medical decisions. Dr Stewart Jones said he used the drug as nutritional therapy, not a cancer treatment, and the patient’s cancer was terminal.
