Obituaries for George DeMarco and Fred Carmack
George J. DeMarco, 59, president of the Arizona Retail Licensed Beverage Association, died Saturday at Samaritan Hospital. Born in London, Ontario, he moved to Scottsdale in 1958 and led Liquor Oasis, Inc. He was named Name Brands Retailer of The Year in 1965. Survivors include wife Erma and brothers Hubert and Amadeo. Rosary tonight, Mass Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, burial at St. Francis Mausoleum. Fred Carmack, 51, service manager for Jack Johnson Chrysler Plymouth, died Saturday in Doctors Hospital Phoenix. Born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, he moved to Phoenix in 1964 and worked four years at the agency. Survivors include wife June, son Fred Jr., daughter Suzanne, and two sisters. Funeral Tuesday at Green Acres Mortuary, burial in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Contributions suggested to Perry Parents Club of the Perry Rehabilitation Center.

Robbery Probe At Taco Bell On McDowell Road
Police investigate an armed robbery at Taco Bell, 7847 E McDowell Rd, Sunday morning. A 17 year old employee, Mike Scates, says a 6'3" man in his late 40s, Indian male, about 200 pounds, blue jeans and blue shirt struck him and took $10 from his wallet. The restaurant office was entered but no other losses reported.

Supreme Court delays ruling on Pentagon papers case
The Supreme Court recessed without adjournment to resume ruling on publication of secret Vietnam war papers. Justices also ruled state funds cannot be earmarked for secular education in parochial schools but upheld federal grants to church related colleges. The court plans next term on death penalty challenges and heard four cases for decision next fall or winter. Rhode Island and Pennsylvania programs were struck down while Connecticut grants were upheld.

Ellsberg Freed After Arraignment In Boston
Dr Daniel Ellsberg surrendered to federal authorities in Boston and admitted supplying the Pentagon papers to the New York Times. He was arraigned before Magistrate Peter W Princi and released on a 50000 bond with no surety, with a July 15 hearing set on possible removal to California on espionage charges.
