Senate blocks further Indochina action under new ceasefire
The Senate approved a measure to block U.S. military involvement in Indochina, authorizing no funds for operations in Southeast Asia. Republican leader Hugh Scott pledged to oppose bombing Cambodia after June 30, saying continued bombing fails to achieve peace. Brezhnev’s U.S. visit looms as Congress moves toward final action.
