Paradise Valley Sets June 25 Meeting on Rezoning Plans
Paradise Valley town council schedules a mass meeting for June 25 at 7 30 p.m. in Town Hall to discuss rezoning along Scottsdale Road from one acre residential to resort zones. Mayor Jack Huntress urged residents to attend and to speak on Camelback Inn owner Jack Stewart’s 30 acre rezoning request near Lincoln Drive and 56th Street for 90 luxury homes. The council also noted Scottsdale Mayor Woudenberg will limit July 7 talks to Scottsdale Road rezoning, with high rise zoning deferred. The council opposes the Choate rezoning between Jack Rabbit Road and Lincoln Drive and threatens action to block it. Also approved a Paradise Valley branch station proposal by Postmaster O C Wilson to operate from Town Hall by Aug 1, 8:30 am–4:30 pm, with full postal services but no carrier service.
