Scottsdale school officials said today that 72 contracts for 1971 72 would be mailed next week to about 1180 teachers. The contracts raise base salaries by 300 dollars to 6650 plus 50 dollars if attendance exceeds expectations. More experience and credits yield higher pay with the average salary rising to 11341. Contracts must be returned within a month for teachers choosing to stay. The board offered a teacher negotiations team.

He died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Tempe. He served as president elect of the Scottsdale Principals Association and held prior posts in Supai and Superior districts. Born in Mayfield California, he studied at USC and ASU earning four degrees, and served in World War II. Survivors include wife Gerri three children Mitzi Heidi and Keith a sister Mrs. Robert Messinger and other relatives. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made to the Robert G. Fiedler memorial.
