Offshoot Date Palm Transplantation Guidance
Horticulturist Harvey F. Tate explains that date palm offshoots are the practical method for propagation while seeds rarely fruit true. Offshoots require three to six years to mature, reach eight to twelve inch bases, and about 40 pounds before removal for transplant. Complete guidance is in Circular 165. Two regional winners will then travel to Detroit in August for top modelers showdown.
