General charged in slayings in Indochina
Brig. Gen. John W. Donaldson was charged with murdering six South Vietnamese civilians and assaulting two others during late 1968 and early 1969 while commanding the 11th Infantry Brigade Americal Division in northern South Vietnam. Lt. Col. William J. McCloskey also faced charges for killings in the same province. The announcements came from First Army headquarters at Ft Meade with investigations possible as Article 32 proceedings proceed.

State funds cut for CAP Grand Canyon Search and Rescue
The State Board of Aeronautics declined to renew its 50 000 contract with the Civil Air Patrol for Search and Rescue work at the Grand Canyon. Vandals Strike at Three Elementary Schools
Three local elementary schools suffered vandalism between May 28 and 7 a.m. Tuesday. Pima School at 9330 E Osborn had a cracked door glass removed, bulbs broken, cement spread, with cleanup costs around $45. Two drivers hurt in city traffic
Two men were treated and released after separate Arizona incidents Tuesday. John Fetter, 23, of 7534 E Osborn, collided with Mildred Peters, 49, of 7549 E Minnetowa, as Fetter tried to yield to an eastbound fire truck on 76th Street near Second. Fetter faced a charge of speeding. Paul Ich, 26, of 1232 N Hayden Rd, was injured when his motorcycle fell after striking a rock while starting from a stopped position in a private lot at Garfield and 82nd. Several other minor accidents were reported with no injuries.
