Congress moved a bill to extend Federal oil price controls for six months. Federal Energy Administrator Frank G. Zarb said Ford is certain to veto the measure. With a planned August 31 expiry, gasoline could rise 4 to 7 cents per gallon.
Treasury Secretary William E. Simon urged Congress to cut corporate and stockholder taxes by about 14 billion dollars over six years to end double taxation on dividends. The proposal would give corporations a 50 percent dividends deduction and a stockholder tax credit of about half of dividends, phased in 1977 through 1982, with exemptions for tax exempt and foreign holders.

The group aims for a phased 12 000 to 15 000 square foot center with a shared library and activities while avoiding duplication with nearby services.
A 13 year old Scotts dale boy, Kevin Sanders, saved his 5 year old niece Tracy and 4 year old nephew Brett from a fast moving house fire at Schofield Barracks Hawaii. He guided them outside and coordinated with neighbors and fire crews while the home burned. Damages are estimated at $63,000 to the house with contents assessment pending.
