Dr. Noni Brar Koch, medical director of Hawaii Planned Parenthood, seeks to reduce abortions by preventing unplanned pregnancies. She notes about 250 abortions monthly since March and advocates free birth control information, clinic service, and contraceptives for Hawaii's poor.
Hawaii doctors advocate abortion prevention and free preventive care as officials project abortions to rise to three per year. Dr. Koch stresses no moral judgment, offers nonjudgmental counseling, and provides free preventive help while referring complex cases to other physicians. She supports mobile clinics to reach low income areas and treats up to 100 women weekly.
The seventh annual Serendipity Rummage Sale at Gompers Rehabilitation Center on Sept 12 gathers TV sets to toys and thousands of items.
