Scottsdale School Board debates 800-student cap per building
The board tabled adoption of a plan to limit new Scottsdale Schools facilities to 800 students per building while awaiting talks with the City of Scottsdale. Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Reuben says the plan would create separate K–4 and 5–8 campuses to reduce crowding and cost under 100000 dollars per school. He notes two such schools could cut bus needs and transportation costs in the long run. Board member Osmond Burton cited collaboration with a district liaison committee on McCormick Ranch and other developments, with plans to convene with city officials before the August 8 meeting to refine guidelines including transportation.
