Dead Cannon Shell Explodes Arm Of Tucson Boy
A 7-year-old boy, Thomas Sanders, lost his right arm after a 37 mm cannon shell, believed deactivated, exploded while he played with it on a Tucson sidewalk. The shell, a souvenir from James Womble, a Southern Pacific conductor, had been given to the child. Womble said he did not know the shell was live.
