Nationwide walkout hits AT&T nationwide telephone strike
About a half million Communications Workers of America members walked out nationwide against AT&T. Initial disruptions were minor due to automated systems and supervisory staff handling calls, with operator assistance affected mainly for person to person and some long distance calls. Some local exchanges faced access issues and a court injunction was sought in Bradford and Charleroi. The strike may last at least two weeks and does not impact the Apollo 15 countdown rehearsal.
