Murals Brighten Pediatric Walls at Scottsdale Hospital
Murals in Baptist Hospital's pediatrics ward brighten rooms with scenes of a cowboy and cowgirl, a girl feeding birds, and animals. Painted by nurse Sylvia Hartman and assisted by Soroptimist Club member Idalee Shipp, the project adds Western touches as Scottsdale is touted as the West's Most Western Town. The artist, a registered nurse and former exhibit chair for the Scottsdale Artists' League, studied art in California and teaches watercolor at home. Hartman and husband have two children, Bradley and Nancy.
