Eleven Hurt In Three City Crashes This Sunday
Three wrecks on city streets left eleven people injured. A broadside at 68th Street and Oak involved David J. Peck 21 of Mesa and four others treated at Scottsdale Baptist Hospital. Peck’s MG hit Kathleen Brennan’s station wagon after another car appeared to race. Peck and his passengers Gary Clement and Andrew Kurtok were from Mesa. Brennan is from Portland street area. Total damage around 2700 dollars. A separate Pinto Drive crash injured Chester and Ruby Dubois after a dog was swerved into avoidance. A late night collision on Thomas Road near 60th Street involved Kenneth Aston and Vince Laman with Corvette damage and minor injuries. Jerry Maclean of Rochester, Minn. was treated and released.

Salt Lake Zoo curator dies after deadly snake bite
Jerry De Bary 37 a Salt Lake Zoo curator who handled poisonous reptiles for a decade died from a puff adder bite suffered Saturday night during cage cleaning. He had been in very critical condition since the attack and his wife Kay brought antivenin to the zoo, but he did not survive.

Burglary Suspect Arrested Near Scottsdale High
Jerry Kenneth Herring 18 was arrested by Patrolman Lawrence Connor after being seen running between buildings on Scottsdale High School grounds. A janitor reported a noise inside the cafeteria. Herring hid behind an alcove wall with coins found in his jacket and admitted taking them from the school bookstore. He is held on $2000 bond awaiting arraignment on burglary.
