Paradise Valley Subdivision Rules Denied by Council

The Paradise Valley town council rejected two proposed subdivision regulation amendments intended to require offsite improvements be completed within a year of final plat approval before building permits. Instead the council asked the town attorney to draft amendments tying occupancy certificates to finished offsite work. The vote followed residents’ complaints about drainage ditches causing landscape damage and flooding. The council also approved Camelback Country Club Estates units III and IV final plat for 37 lots despite concerns over golf course easements and one acre zoning. Oscar A. Butt was named town manager effective Feb 5 by a 5 to vote, succeeding Jack E. Phillips. Mary Ann Brines had served as acting town manager since Jan 11.
