Navy pilot missing near Winslow in cold weather search

Air Force and Navy aircraft joined snowmobiles and rescue crews in a search for a Navy pilot who bailed out of a training plane Wednesday near Winslow. The downed Navy S2F was located about 40 to 45 miles north northwest of Winslow on the Hopi Reservation. A Luke AFB spokesman said two paramedics and a flight surgeon rode the Albatross to assist.

Arizona House approves lobbyist registration measure

Vietnamese shells threaten Khe Sanh air resupply

North Vietnamese gunners shelled the Khe Sanh airstrip with mortars artillery and rockets as the base near the DMZ faced a siege. U.S. jets and CH46 helicopters were claimed downed in four days and air attacks by U.S. forces reached a record high with B52 missions and 473 bombing runs in the region.
