Southwest Research of Phoenix announces a plan to build a $2 million motion picture studio on 160 acres just south of Carefree. Cine Logistics Corp acquired an option on the land pending zoning approval for commercial use. The project includes two underground sound stages, a western town set, fort, restaurant, and admin offices. Fred Graham will lead Cine Logistics with film lab ties to California for fast turnaround. Governor Williams attended the press briefing noting worker compensation changes aiding the venture.
