Ex-mayor opposes Scottsdale street renaming move

Former Scottsdale mayor Mort Kimsey publicly protests a plan led by Vice-Mayor Ken Murray to rename about 50 streets and align numbering with Phoenix. Kimsey argues the historic street names reflect the town’s past and warns the change could harm local identity and business. The plan relies on a city commission founded in 1967 and seeks to ease navigation for tourists and residents.
