Indians seek input as Fort Mohave election case grows
UPI reports ten days are given for briefs in U.S. District Court on federal intervention in the Fort Mohave tribal election. Judge Walter Craig extended his Jan. 2 order barring enforcement of a ruling voiding the election and reinstating the prior council. Indians challenge the Dec. 12 BIA action that voided the April 1972 election, arguing Phoenix certified it and Washington later voided it.
