City Council resolves differences in southside plan changes
The council agreed to 90 zoning changes for the southern half of the city readiness for adoption at the January 15 meeting. The plan adds two green belt links from downtown to Indian Bend Wash with bicycle paths along Main Street and Osborn Road. It moves three schools Saloma and Our Lady of Perpetual Help elementary and Scottsdale High to their current downtown sites and buffers a parcel near 64th Street and McDowell Road from garden industry use. The plan increases open space and allows more shopping centers and offices than the existing five year plan. The zoning map will reflect the changes and be printed after final adoption.
