Legislature Reverts Memorial Day to Fourth Monday in May
A unanimous legislative committee moved to restore Memorial Day to the traditional fourth Monday in May to align with the federal calendar. Rep. Tony West said the change would create a three day weekend and stop the misalignment with the country. The bill would not alter Veterans Day, and Gov. Williams had signed the prior law.
