Gunman along with six followers seize Canadian Embassy in Beirut
A Lebanese gunman claiming betrayal over an island seized the Canadian Embassy with six armed followers, taking over 20 hostages. After three hours of negotiations eight women were released. about 15 men remained inside. No injuries reported. Negotiations focused on surrender terms with Palestinian and Lebanese officials aiding.
