The Ald Western Stampede, originally set for February 14, is postponed to February 21 at the State Fairgrounds. Avis Read, queen of the Scottsdale Saddle Club, competes with other finalists for Queen of the Rodeo. Tickets are sold at Porter's Scottsdale store.
Proceeds from the Sheriffs Posse Benefit Rodeo go to the Junior patrol. The event starts at 2 30 p m Sunday February 28 at Biltmore Arena with nine regular rodeo events and safety demonstrations for the Phoenix Junior Chamber of Commerce rodeo queen contest. Tickets are on sale in Scottsdale at the Chamber of Commerce office.
