Helicopter Losses Mount in Laos and Vietnam Border Fight
UPI reports increased helicopter losses for the U S and South Vietnam across Laos and northern South Vietnam as Chinese NCNA tallies show 53 helicopters shot down, with 62 allied aircraft downed overall. The drive began January 29, and field sources cite at least 10 to 20 losses in recent days.

Border Marijuana Seizures Rise At Arizona Line
At the Arizona Mexico border 28 000 pounds of marijuana have been seized since July 1 1970, doubling in weight each of the last two years. Nogales U S customs chief Daniel Bancock notes arrests in the first six weeks of this year also rise, with 364 jailed last year. He adds that in 1969 total seizures reached 1000 pounds and half of U S marijuana seizures in December were in Arizona. He cites growing traffic, dealer infiltration, and tougher enforcement as factors.

Crash leads to drug charge for 15 year old
Police say a 15 year old girl, Janice Allen of 6643 Moreland, was arrested early this morning after a collision on 68th Street. Her car crossed the center line and struck a vehicle owned by Jon A. Pettycrew. Officers found hypodermic needles and suspected drugs in a case and four additional packets in a handbag. Allen, who lacked a driver’s license, was treated for injuries and released to her parents as investigations continued.
