Sabre Lures Still Tops For Taking Bass
Wally Blanchard’s Sabre lure remains the top choice for large mouth bass, despite imitators. The lead-weighted lure sinks fast and is fished along the bottom with slow, precise movements to tempt big bass, including the famed 111 pound 2 ounce Lake Mead catch. Powell and Salt River Valley waters are noted for strong bass activity with Sabre users targeting Lake Powell headwaters.
