Town Council Sets Election on Scottsdale Utility Franchise
Scottsdale Town Council passed a resolution to hold an election on a utility franchise for Arizona Public Service. The March 15 vote will be at Town Hall with a 2 percent gross revenue share promised to the town and an estimated annual $2,000. Honor Women Honored at Scottsdale PTA Meeting Frye
Mrs. Vemen Frye was honored at a Scottsdale and West Scottsdale Elementary PTA meeting on February 8 1955 in the high school auditorium. Principal Luther Flick moderated and recalled Frye s scholastic achievements including a 1955 election to the National Education Association Honorary Society Kappa Delta Phi. Second graders presented songs and a Three Billy Goats Gruff skit while celebrating the PTA s 56th birthday with cookies punch and coffee.

Legion Dance Set For Saturday Night
Sipe Peterson Post No 44 American Legion hosts a public dance on Saturday night February 12 at the Legion Hall on East First Street. A good orchestra will provide music. Decorations and favors follow a Valentine motif. Donation is one dollar per couple.
