Police reported multiple July burglaries including Ernest Myers at 6051 N Granite Reef Rd where $3 337 in valuables were stolen and a nude tie tack valued near $1 000. Entry through a patio door was suspected and other losses included a $1000 ring and a $300 watch.
UPI reports photographer Dimitrios Koulouris received a six month prison term after cruising a speedboat near the Skorpos area while a seaplane with Aristotle Onassis was landing on July 20 1970. The incident raised security concerns surrounding the famous magnate.

Scottsdale Planning and Zoning Commission continued a rezoning request by J-F Development Co. for 35 acres west of Hayden Road between McDonald Drive and Jackrabbit Road. In San Francisco UPI reports ongoing talks over contract details for the 48 day Hughes Airwest mechanics strike. A basic agreement on major issues was reached Sunday and wages benefits and working rules are settled though back-to-work terms await ratification by the 570 member union.
Marine Corps recruiting officers will present an award Thursday morning to Sam Pendleton of radio station KDOT for his help in promoting the Corps. Capt. A.G. Little of the Phoenix office will present the award to Pendleton at 9 a.m. at the radio station.

A Saigon spokesman says the Tet offensive may have begun as the Constellation heads back to support in case of major strikes. A new Disabled American Veterans post is forming in Scottsdale as Chapter 22. The first meeting will be Thursday at 7 30 p.m. at VFW Post 3513 located at 222 S Wells Fargo. Future meetings are set for the first Thursday of each month at 8 p.m. at the same VFW post.
