VVAW protesters barricade Statue of Liberty overnight
Sixteen Vietnam Veterans Against the War members occupied the Statue of Liberty in a symbolic protest. National Parks Service warned of removal if they refused to negotiate. Police were staged on Liberty Island as the monument closed to the public. Seventeen demonstrators were later escorted from Ft Dix after attempting to distribute gifts to prisoners.

Funeral for William Cavanagh Held in Phoenix
A vigil Rosary for 15 year old William Cavanagh of Paradise Valley will be at 7 30 tonight at Whitney and Murphy ArCadia Chapel. A funeral mass follows Tuesday at 9 30 a m at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will be at St Francis Cemetery. Surviving relatives are his mother Stella Cavanagh father Harry J Cavanagh grandparents Bert Cavanagh Isabell Dominguez two brothers Harry Jr and Mike and four sisters Mrs James Burrow Mrs Charles Albert Jamie and Patricia Cavanagh.

Sam R Topolosky 58 longtime Art Theater Guild attorney died Friday at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. Born in Columbus Ohio he lived at 5527 E Calle del Paisano and was a member of ABA State Bar of Arizona and Beth El Congregation. Survivors include wife Zelda son Allan Tempe daughter Judith Rubinoff Tempe and one grandchild. Services were at Grimshaw Bethany Chapel burial at Beth El Cemetery. Contributions suggested to American Heart Association.

India to consider Bangla Desh requests on war criminals
