Gospel birth date myths and nativity details questioned
An analysis challenges common Christmas beliefs noting Jesus birth likely occurred in a Bethlehem grotto rather than a wooden stable. It argues the 1 A.D. date is incorrect, cites Herod's reign and Caesar Augustus tax decree as timing clues, and explains December 25 as a later church choice with biblical hints suggesting a summer or fall birth. It also clarifies the wise men are simply called wise men from the East with no fixed number.
