October home sales fall 5.9 percent nationally

National Association of Realtors data show existing single family home sales in October dropped 5.9 percent from a year earlier and 10.4 percent from October 1972 due to mortgage market conditions. Median price rose 10.3 percent to 31870 with regional gains around 11 percent in Northeast North Central and Western regions while under 30000 sales declined in lower price ranges.
