In Phoenix the House leadership pressed for a swift agreement on school financing as a conference with the Senate continued. Bills on property taxes and income taxes faced scrutiny with lawmakers hoping to end the second special session by week’s end while debating refunds on net operating losses and homeowner tax shifts.
The Arizona Senate stalled a $113000 appropriation for the State Stream Commission, part of a four bill package sent by the House. Senators Boyd Tenney and Douglas Holsclaw cited surplus funds as the reason for delaying immediate approval.
