Fire damages workshop at Don Humphrey residence
A fire caused about 500 dollars in damage to the workshop at 2219 North 87th Place. A puppy chewed an electrical wire igniting the fire, which Humphrey extinguished before firefighters arrived at 11:43 p.m. Damage remained confined to the shop.

Scottsdale man charged after crash hits palm tree
A 35 year old Scottsdale driver Richard Bills was cited for driving while intoxicated and speed not reasonable after his car struck a center divider uprooting a city palm tree at 1:20 a.m. near 501 North 76th Street. He was uninjured, police said.
