Scottsdale Beaver grid team feted at Kiwanis banquet
The 1948 Scottsdale High Beaver football squad and coach Jiggs Hardt were honored by the Kiwanis Club at a Monday night banquet at the Scottsdale Coffee Shop. Don Vosberg of the University of Arizona spoke on football and future plans, with a Gilbert Scottsdale game film shown. The team, second in the Valley Six Man Conference, was introduced by Hardt, listing players such as Jim Walker Joe Cavin Steve Farrier Bill Stone Alfred Austin Carl Wheeler Dick Blom er Bobby Medina Wayne Geddis Ernest Corral and others.
