Chaparral Principal to Lead New Mountain View High in Mesa
Chaparral High School principal James Curlett 45 will assume duties at the new Mountain View High School in Mesa on January 19. He led Chaparral since May 1972 after being chosen from over 60 applicants for the Mesa post. Mountain View aims for 1,900 students from Westwood and Mesa High, with staff likely drawn from those schools. Curlett cites a real fine opportunity and will focus on staff, equipment, and parent meetings. He leaves Chaparral with affection and no ill will, and Scottsdale officials note no replacement has yet been chosen. He and wife Martha have two children.
