The Salt River Project and four other utilities will sue the Navajo Tribe in federal court over a proposed 6.65 million dollar annual sulfur emissions tax on the Navajo Generating Station at Page. The tax would apply to emissions over 100 pounds yearly and is seen as unnecessary because the plant meets federal Clean Air Act standards.
The Scottsdale School District revises 1977-78 kindergarten projections to about 696 students, 387 fewer than the earlier 1,083 forecast, with 887 enrolled as of today. Officials expect additional summer enrollments and plan a census of pre school children to gauge future declines.

The six seat plane was last seen at 7:15 p.m. Friday fueled and prepared for an early morning flight. Airport security noted only one aircraft moved overnight and the plane had no key and was locked.

In Sauk City Wisconsin residents at Maplewood Nursing Home witnessed an elephant Barbara break into a room and roam the halls during a Carson Barnes Circus tent setup. The 38yearold animal, stranded after escaping a fourmile trek, caused thousands of dollars in damage before being tranquilized and loaded into a truck with help from another elephant. Residents and staff recall the chaos but praise safety efforts and luck that no one was harmed.
