Nine CWA Members Suspended Over Independent Union Bid
Nine Local 8490 members of the Communications Workers of America were suspended for three years. Robert Sims said telegrams informed them of the trial board’s guilty verdict and penalties. The group, all Western Electric central office equipment installers, sought to form the National Brotherhood of Telephone Technicians.
