M G McFarlin Local resident dies in Phoenix hospital
Millard Grover McFarlin 74 of Scottsdale died in a Phoenix hospital after a 25 year residency there. Born January 25, 1886 in Arkansas, he worked in Oklahoma oil fields before moving to Arizona in 1935. He farmed around Scottsdale until retirement ten years ago and was known for violin playing. Survived by widow Mary Jane, four sons Julius Euel Milborne Millard, four daughters Virgie Martin Inez Stubblefield Bessie Ann Adams, Blanche Adams, 34 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and three sisters. Daughters reside in Scottsdale. sons in Scottsdale. Funeral tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Messinger Mortuary Chapel.

City to Add Safety Belts
The City of Scottsdale will install safety belts on all city vehicles starting this week with police cars. Chief Merritt Chafey stressed safety belt importance at a state meeting in Phoenix last week. Four patrol cars will get belts as soon as purchases arrive. belts are being ordered for street department vehicles and employees may buy belts for private cars.
