Sign ordinances change taken under advisement in Scottsdale council

The Scottsdale city council continued Kaiser Aetna's Planned Community District for 342.1 acres at McCormick Ranch and took under advisement a sign ordinance change after a public hearing. The body approved three zoning actions and denied one minor sign permit request.

Nixon Signs Lincoln Home as National Historic Site in Springfield

President Nixon traveled to Springfield to sign a bill making the Lincoln home at 430 S 8th Street a national historic site. He visited the Illinois State Fair and outlined economic policy aims to create jobs increase purchasing power curb living costs and boost the U S trade position as he continues a western vacation.

Motorcyclist Hurt In Field Crash At Home

A 13 year old boy identified as Robert Briswalter of 7121 E Cholla was treated and released at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital after being thrown from a motorcycle in a field behind his home Tuesday. Police noted the incident happened between 3 and 3 15 p m when the wheels locked or hit a rock. Police logged four other Tuesday crashes including two car mishaps at Scottsdale and Camelback Roads and Indian School and Granite Reef Roads along with locations on Main Street and Thomas Road.

Lack of match saves Scottsdale trailer from arson

Police say Edwin Shephard 44 was arrested after allegedly pouring gasoline over a trailer at 7660 E McKellips Rd following an argument with his wife. He reportedly asked for a match but could not ignite it. held in city jail pending arraignment.

Reading policy attacked by Arizona educators

Fence Blaze Damages Home Fence at 3511 North Hopi Way

A Tuesday blaze at 2 53 p m caused 550 damage to a fence at 3511 N Hopi Way. Investigators have not yet determined a cause. A second fire in a storage room at Buena Ventura Co op 815 N Hayden Rd at 12 41 a m caused 30 damage to a mattress with the cause under investigation.
