Police swarm the courthouse as 40 uniformed officers circle the building. A police helicopter flies overhead while Berkowitz faces a grand jury indictment charging murder attempted murder felonious assault and illegal possession of a .44 caliber revolver linked to all shootings.
A 10 am Wednesday dedication will honor the Indian Bend Wash flood control outlet north of McKellips Road between Miller and Hayden. Attendees include Lt General Jack Morris, Arizona Congressmen Eldon Rudd and John Rhodes, plus leaders from the Maricopa County Flood Control District and its advisory board. The 180 acre outlet runs south of McKellips into Tempe and was built by Scottsdale Tempe the corps and district.
