The voluntary manslaughter trial of Raymond Shimek in Maricopa County Superior Court was postponed with no new date set. Shimek, 51, faces charges related to a June 10 auto crash that killed 9 year old Chris Betterbush at Kiddie Kampus Nursery. Two other children were injured and operator Charles Kay recovered from serious injuries. The case was reassigned to Judge Jerry Glenn, who is on vacation this week.
Marion D Shultzman 60 owner of Marion's Electrical Service in Scottsdale since 1954 died Wednesday at Scottsdale Baptist Hospital. Born in Orville Ohio he moved to Arizona in 1944 and to Scottsdale in 1946. Survived by wife Ardis two sons Larry Shultzman and Jan Haynes two daughters Connie Shultzman and Mrs Tom Ryan a brother Paul seven siblings out of state and four grandchildren. Eva B. Cain 87 who moved to Scottsdale in 1958 from Ypsilanti Michigan died this morning at Scottsdale Baptist Hospital. She lived at 70108 Continental Dr. Survived by husband Asa three sons Richard of Scottsdale Albert of Battle Creek Mich and Robert of Ypsilanti one daughter Virginia Weimer of La Mesa Calif seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Private services followed by cremation, announced Green Acres Mortuary.
