Thomas L. Poindexter, co chairman of the Greater Detroit Mid Homeowners Council, testifies before the Senate Commerce Committee that northern white resentment toward Negro civil rights could hurt candidates who rely on Black support. He argues organized labor and quotas affect hiring on federally funded construction jobs, and notes growing tensions between civil rights advocates and northern voters seeking limits on agitation.
