Aviation Students to Tour Phoenix Air Facilities This Weekend
Forty students from Arizona State College at Flagstaff accompany instructor Robert Moore on a Civil Air Patrol aviation education trip to Phoenix. They fly Friday morning aboard an Air Force C-119 to Luke Field then to Winslow and Lake Field for a layover, spend Saturday at Sky Harbor for activities with the Arizona Aviation Authority, and return with a special emphasis on aviation education. The program, first of its kind in the southwest Civil Air Patrol region, is highlighted by Arthur I. Martin of Dallas, who helped lead the instruction. The Arizona Aviation Authority also plans scholarships of 1,000 to Arizona teachers joining the course.
