Rescued Admiral Bogan and six crewmen abandon yacht Freedom II
Admiral Gerald Bogan, 69, and six crewmen abandoned the 104 foot yacht Freedom II during a Hawaii to California cruise. They were picked up by the submarine USS Razorback about 600 miles southwest of San Francisco at 11:50 p.m. PDT. The vessel Freedom II remained afloat. no immediate cause for the abandonment is given. The yacht is owned by Frank G. Jameson of Los Angeles.
