In Westminster California 114 unidentified victims of history's worst aviation disaster were buried in numbered graves after a memorial service attended by nearly 1 500 people. Seventy five of the victims were Southern Californians and the gravesite was donated by Westminster Memorial Park.
Three Baader Meinhof gang leaders Andreas Baader Gudrun Ensslin and Jan Carl Raspe are found guilty of four murders and other anti state crimes by a Stuttgart court They receive life imprisonment and additional counts for attempted murder and conspiracy reflecting their early 1970s militant campaign in West Germany.
WASHINGTON letters to President Carter and the Senate Judiciary Committee protest the indictment of retired FBI agent John J. Kearney. Writers condemn the charges as outrageous and recall past bombings and terrorism to urge authorities to remember those acts. Uranium safeguards urged by Carter as he asks Congress to ban exports of uranium processing plants that could produce plutonium for weapons.
Federal jury hears the espionage trial of college student Christopher Boyce charged with selling secrets to the Russians. Boyce testified in his defense admitting secret dealings with Soviet agents but says he did not intend to harm the United States.

Dr. Norman White says a telegram was sent. Larry Bell favors a local third party and says costs should be shared. The next session is Monday at Coronado High School.
Valley anglers may fish Chaparral Lake this summer after the Scottsdale Parks and Recreation Commission backed a one year experimental urban fishing program. Game and Fish will stock Chaparral Lake and study stocking other urban lakes for those unable to travel. Special fishing permits would be required.
Scottsdale Community College votes name Mark Stevens president by 138 margin over incumbent Brandt Buening. JoAnn Jones defeats Rick Scott for vice president by 35 as independents claim a split tactic. Jack Curtis becomes treasurer. Michael Landron unopposed secretary. 21 senate spots pending totals. Over 900 students cast ballots.
