College Receives Valuable Portrait By Gilbert Stuart

Arizona State College received a Gilbert Stuart portrait of James Moore Halsey valued over 10000 dollars for an indefinite period. Dr. Grady Gammage, the college president, disclosed the gift on Tuesday. The portrait showcases Stuart’s precise brush technique and textured rendering of hair skin and fabrics. An anonymous valley collector loaned the work along with two 18th century inlaid furniture pieces an Italian settee and a Spanish arm chair over 200 years old.
