Gabriel Rejects Rock Theater Label for Genesis Visual Rock
Genesis frontman Peter Gabriel rejects the term rock theater for the band's stage shows describing them as visual rock. He performs Rael in a live pantomime using eight directional lighting and three projection screens to create expansive panoramas. Gabriel notes he lacks formal acting training and continually evolves his onstage act while Genesis builds a following in England and the United States with noncommercial material.
