ASU Chicanos protest alleges job discrimination on campus
More than 300 MECHA members protest on Arizona State University campus alleging widespread job discrimination by administration. MECHA spokesman Herman Alcantar Jr. says a complaint will be filed with HEW and, if not answered within 10 days, a Title XI suit will be pursued. The group cites limited Chicano hiring, few Chicano professors, and no top administrative posts as proof of bias.
