Rural Fire Department wins mortgage help for new station
After five months waiting the Rural Metropolitan Fire Department secures mortgage support from Western Savings & Loan Association for a one acre site at Tatum Boulevard and Mockingbird Lane. Western will fund 67000 dollars toward construction while the department covers the rest. The project cost is about 70000 for building and 18000 for land with bids to be sought after final drawings and town approval. Construction could start within six weeks and finish in about three months. The Paradise Valley town council approved the project on October 31 after residents raised traffic concerns which local engineers said would not materially affect traffic impacts.
