A man from Indiana challenged questions, shouting that the gentleman from Indiana made no answer as time expired. Holman pressed on and the Vest guerrilla’s interruption upstaged his speech, driving him to the cover.

An old advertisement extols Mrs Winslow's Soothing Syrup as a universal teething aid for children, claiming it soothes pain, softens gums, cures wind colic, and treats diarrhoea. Sold worldwide by druggists, the copy urges asking for the genuine product and warns against other brands. It also mentions a separate cold cure and laxative product in a brief aside.
